Plover
Plover is a solo is inspired by the book, On Tyranny: Twenty Lessons from the Twentieth Century by Timothy Snyder and the poem, What Kind of Times Are These by, Adrienne Rich and is a study on compliance, control, and personal freedom.
Using the plover as a metaphor—a shorebird whose habitats and populations are at risk due to sea levels rising and human development and interference—of the relationship between people and their government, this piece speaks to the agency we each have to rush out into the unknown to create change.
